Preserve Description

Two adjacent preserves serve as one: ACRES Maple Wood Nature Preserve and the LaGrange County Parks Nature Preserve. The county preserve includes a maple syrup camp and a variety of year-round programs. Visitors may hike trails in both preserves. Common species of trees include sugar maple and butternut, and a variety of birds and wildflowers abound, the latter including cranefly, puttyroot and a display of white trillium that nearly covers the ground in spring.
