ACRES events and programs are open to the public - you do not have to be an ACRES member to participate. All programs are offered free of charge unless otherwise noted in the description. Choose an upcoming event and join in the fun!

ARTology 
The Intersection of Art & Nature
 
August 27 thru October 23, 2010
 
 
Art·ol·o·gy is an exciting collaborative exhibition presented by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and ACRES Land Trust emphasizing the convergence of the visual arts and the natural world.
 
Twenty area artists were commissioned to respond to an ACRES preserve in a variety of media and methods. The stunning result will travel to five cities across northeast Indiana from January through October 2010. The exhibition will culminate in an auction and sale to honor the 50th Anniversary of the
ACRES Land Trust.

ACRES celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a Blue Jean Gala.
 
A gala unlike any other, this one is casual.  Blue jeans, Carhartts, sweatshirts, hiking boots and tennis shoes are the dress code.  Don't even think about dressing up!
 
 
 
  • Enjoy exquisite cuisine, beer and wine while surrounded by the beauty of 156 acres of forest, wetland and prairie habitats.
  • View ARTology (Nature based Art Exhibit and Auction).
  • Listen and dance along to the sounds of the 60s provided by The Junk Yard Band.
  • Hike through the property with a map created specifically for this event!
No need to worry about the weather.  There is plenty of room in the barns and tents if it rains.
 
This is a ticketless event.  We will have your name on the registration list that will be at the gate. 
 
You will be given a name badge and details for the event at that time.

Wing Haven Stewardship Day
Saturday, September 11, 10 AM to 1 PM at Wing Haven Nature Preserve. 
 
Come join in the combined event with Blue Heron Ministries and ACRES Land Trust to learn about prairie plants and their management while performing exotic/invasive plant control at Wing Haven’s prairie remnant. Boots and gloves are required. Hearing protection may be desirable. We will provide saws and herbicide. Bring your own loppers if you like. Pack your own brown bag for lunch on a gravel hill prairie. Meet at Wing Haven Nature Preserve for Round 2 of this group restoration saga.
 
 
 

 
 
6th Annual Nature-Based Art Exhibit
