ACRES Land Trust Bird-A-Thon
Everyone looks forward to spring for different reasons. For many ACRES members and other outdoor enthusiasts, it is the return of birds. On May 18, I will be leading the ACRES Avocets team, as part of the annual Southwest Michigan Team Birdathon, tallying as many birds as possible in this fund raising event to benefit Marion's Woods Nature Preserve.
Last year, many of you supported our efforts with $1,509.12 in pledges! Thank you! We have now raised $25,540.20 in the last 15 years through Birdathon!
Get involved! Simply choose one of the options below and submit it by May 13. Last year, our team saw 122 species of birds. If you had pledged a nickel a bird last year, you would have contributed $6.10. A dime pledged would have resulted in a $12.20 contribution - you get the idea. This is a fun way to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. Your contribution is tax deductible as allowed by law.
You will be notified of our success and your pledge amount after the May 18, 2013 event. All donors will be thanked in the Summer Quarterly and will receive a list of birds. All $1.00-A-Bird Club Members will receive special recognition. Thank you!
