Donate Funds

As one can imagine, acquiring land for preservation; clearing fences, buildings, and debris; building trails, boardwalks and footbridges; and providing educational programs is costly. We are fortunate that we can get some funding through grants from other non-profit environmental organizations, but our costs are much greater than available grants can cover. Here's where donations from supportive individuals, organizations, and business owners are so important. For additional information, visit our office or call us at 260-637-2273 (ACRE).

Methods of Contribution   (Back to top)
Any amount of cash donation is welcome. Checks can be made payable to "ACRES." Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover payments can be made utilizing the Donate button below,  securely over the phone  by calling us at 260- 637-2273 (ACRE), or visit us in person at our office 1802 Chapman Road, Huntertown, IN 46748. Contributions are deductible for tax purposes.

Alternatives to immediate full donation:   (Back to top)
A stock or bond donation, a contribution to ACRES, Inc. specified in your will, or a charitable gift trust (you receive the income during your lifetime and the remainder passes on to ACRES, Inc. as beneficiary).

Memorials   (Back to top)
Funds can be donated for a specific preserve or project in memory of a loved one. Such donations are recognized in our publication, The ACRES Quarterly.

Directed Funds   (Back to top)
Here are some causes to donate money towards:

A specific preserve. Donate towards a local nature preserve you enjoy visiting or want your children to be able to experience in the future. Every property has costs to maintain trails and protect the plants and wildlife.

A building project.
Boy Scouts have built footbridges and boardwalks for our preserves to earn Eagle badges. Others just enjoy sharing their carpentry skills. But it helps greatly when someone is willing to foot the bill for lumber and nails.

A land purchase.
We always have several fund drives (see below) going on for purchasing properties suitable for preservation. Development in Indiana is growing fast and we need to move faster to acquire that last of Indiana's old growth woods, marshes and/or more rare natural environments before they are destroyed by construction.

Our radio program.
Nature Trust is funded by individuals and businesses sponsoring its episodes. Currently each show costs $30, or 8 spots for $160. The radio station mentions the sponsor of each spot aired. (See Nature Trust.)

Endowments.   (Back to top)
Below are community foundations in which ACRES has an established endowment fund.
